Driving Directions
Highlands Hammock State Park is located on S.R. 634, also known as Hammock Road, four miles west of Sebring.

Hours of Operation
Florida state parks are open from 8 a.m. until sundown 365 days a year.

Webster defines hammock as "a fertile area in the southern U.S. and especially Florida, that is usually higher than its surroundings and that is characterized by hardwood vegetation and deep humus-rich soil." True enough. But visitors to Highlands Hammock State Park know exactly what it means -- "Beautiful!."

Park Activities

Bicycling, Camping, Youth Camping, Concessions, Horse Trails, Nature Trails, Picnicking, Visitor Center, and Wildlife Viewing

Bicycling
A paved loop drive through the hammock offers nature study and is ideal for cyclists as bicycles are not permitted on the nature trails. Rentals are available at the ranger station.

Full Facility Camping


Campers will find a tent and trailer campground with; sanitary dumping station, restrooms with hot and cold showers, electric and water hookups. All 154 sites are ADA accessible.

Highlands Hammock State Park is a Seasonal Camping Park. Seasonal Rates Apply As Follows:

May 1st through October 31st $8.00
November 1st through April 30th $13.00

Rates are per night, per site for up to 4 persons

Additional Camping Related Fees

Extra person fee (over 4 people) $2.00
Extra car (non-towed vehicle) $3.00
Electricity (per night) $2.00

Reservations may be made up to eleven months in advance. One night’s camping fee deposit will be required (credit card only – must be canceled within 24 hours of check-in time for refund).

Youth Camping
A remote camping area and youth camping area with a pit toilet is available for groups.

Concessions
A full service concession is operated for the visitors convenience. The Hammock Inn offers food, souvenirs, and camping supplies.

Horse Trails
A day-use horseback-riding trail is available for those wishing to ride their own horses. Contact the park to make reservations. Proof of a recent negative Coggins test is required.

Picnicking
Areas designated for picnicking are located throughout the park. Several tables are designed for wheelchair use.
